This past weekend,
Hub Comics unveiled their annual Dark Knight on a Dark Night show, featuring Batman-inspired artwork by local artists. We stopped by the shop for the opening reception to check out this year's gallery and this year's show did not disappoint, with notably stellar work by
Ming Doyle,
Joe Quinones,
Andrew MacLean, and more.
Jordan also debuted his new Jiro Kuwata-inspired piece for the show, in which the first appearance of Batgirl gets the Batmanga treatment. Look, I know that I'm incredibly biased, but also it's absolute eye-candy and I love it~
Here are just a small sampling of some of my favorite pieces of the show, but be sure to swing by Hub Comics (19 Bow Street in Somerville) before the end of January to check out the entire gallery (bonus: you can get some last-minute/belated holiday shopping done in the store while you peruse some art!). After visiting Gallery 1988 and Q-Pop in L.A. this past September, I really wish that we had more gallery events in the area, which is why I really treasure the Dark Knight on a Dark Night show. So yeah, go check it out in person - the gallery is really great (and free!) and Hub is one of my favorite comic shops and you can grab some amazing coffee from Bloc 11 before/after the show!
It looks like a fun show! All these pieces are awesome. And I think Jordan's Batmanga piece is really great! I love it :)
